Inspiring Our Future Workforce

Skill Up Somerset is an Apprenticeship and Skills Advisory Service to support the businesses and people of West Somerset with their Apprenticeship and Skills journey, offering free, impartial advice and guidance.

Somerset Education Business Partnership connects employers with education providers so that young people are aware of local career opportunities and develop the skills needed to thrive at work.

We help:

  • Employers to build their talent pipelines
  • Education providers to build relationships with local employers
  • Learners to understand post-16 options and the work place

If you would like to gain an insight into different industries then the Somerset TalentEd Academy broadcasts are a good place to start.

The Somerset TalentEd Academy helps young people to gain an understanding of different key Somerset employment sectors by providing connections with a wide range of employers and is designed to inspire students so that they can make informed post-16 choices.

Designed to offer flexibility, the programme is delivered in three stages beginning with digital engagement and moving to on-site experiences where possible. This helps young people to explore their interests, so they gain a deeper insight into those industries they are most passionate about. Find out more about it: Somerset TalentEd Academy (
